Chocolate Peanut Butter Reigns Again, But This Time It's Cute

Wow, don't these look just like acorns? Yes, it's another recipe calling for both chocolate and peanut butter. I seem to have a fondness for those. These chocolate and peanut butter acorns were conceived by Six In The Suburbs. They are both easy and quick to make, and would make an excellent project for a parent to do with the kids. The recipe requires both regular Hershey's Kisses, and mini-chocolate chips, as well as bite-size NutterButter cookies. Apply a bit of microwaving and sticking together, and voila! Acorns!

Happiness: Technically a Salad, Not a Dessert!

Rebbeca Crump at Ezra Pound Cake says this strawberry pretzel salad "makes your TONGUE feel like it's made of GOLD!" The crust is made of crunched up pretzels. The topping boasts strawberries, strawberry jello and a secret ingredient -- crushed pineapple, to give it a little tang. In between the crust and the topping is a layer of creamy, cream-cheesy, whipped-creamy stuff that melts in your mouth like a good cheesecake should -- except that this is not a cheesecake, it's technically a salad, so you don't have to wait until dessert to eat it!

Beautiful Cucumber Salad a Breath of Fresh Vegetables

This is an amazingly simple but beautiful creation. Jaime at Sophistimom says she "threw [it] together" to go with sloppy joes! The cucumber ribbon salad looks artistic, doesn't it? The cucumbers are sliced with a vegetable peeler, and then tossed in a light mix of rice vinegar, mayonnaise and dill. Not as crunchy as a cucumber salad made with cross-cut cukes, it also provides a greater light/dark contrast when set on a plate than a traditional cuke salad. It's colorful appeal would make a visual splash on a plate that includes a dark meat.

Mugfull o' Bliss: Nutella Adds Pizzazz to Chocolate Mug Cake

I'll get right to the point: this fabulous serving-size cake takes three minutes (or less) to cook in the microwave. And you probably have all of the ingredients in your cupboard right now. Need a fast fix of chocolate? Or looking for a fun cooking project to do with your kids? This Nutella Chocolate Mug Cake  is it. It comes from Josie Milano, a contributor at Today's Mama, She notes that one of the best things about it (other than the taste) is the fact that there's very little cleanup -- it's all made right in the mug.

Tiny, Tasty and Tempting: These Treats Will Please Any Chocolate Fan

Okay, now this is what I'm talkin' about. These chocolate peanut butter bites remind me of a similar treat I made around the December holidays with Rollo candies and pecans. The recipe for this looks every bit as easy as the other one was, thanks to Elissa of 17 and baking. Pretzels, chocolate, peanut butter, brown sugar and a few other things turn this into a quick and easy snack that requires no real cooking -- just microwaving.

Chocolate and Granola: the Perfect Combo Snack

Maybe it's just what I'm craving right now, but these chocolate granola bars from Brandy at The Marathon Mom are making my mouth water. Believe it or not, they appear to be healthy as well: the recipe calls for natural peanut butter, honey, real oats, coconut, and yes, chocolate. Almost guilt-free, right? They'd be perfect for an afternoon or midnight snack!

Warm Bananas and Nutella Turn French Toast Into Nirvana

This french toast is to die for! Notice the bananas peaking out from what looks like between the slices? These bananas are actually tucked into a pocket in the bread, along with -- get ready -- Nutella. When you bite into this, you get the sensation of warm bananas and the spread's nutty chocolate-like flavor, in addition to the classic french toast made with heavy cream and cinnamon. The creator of this banana nutella-stuffed french toast is Kelly at Just a Taste.

No-Bake Cookies Full of Chocolatey Goodness

Okay, I confess that I have much to learn about cooking and baking. But one thing I was taught while young enough to tug on my grandma's apron was this: cookies come out of the oven. These no-bake chocolate peanut butter cookies, however, fly in the face of that. There's no baking, and they are flourless. And amazingly easy -- just mix all the ingredients together, and eat it. Katie at Chocolate-Covered Katie uses real peanuts, raisins and peanut butter (of course) to complement the chocolate yumminess.

Easy Butternut Fries: Healthy and Delectable

Andie at Can You Stay for Dinner? posted these baked butternut squash fries, and I can almost taste them! She says they are "nutty and sweet". They look better than McDonald's fries, and according to the nutritional information she provides, they are far better for you. And you know what? They are ridiculously easy. Andie leads readers through it step by step, so even the most cooking-challenged person will end up with fries that look just like this. Then you can sit down in front of your TV with a big plate of them and say, "Take that, Ronald McDonald!"

Grilled Bruschetta Chicken Has Italian Flavor

This grilled bruschetta chicken is an amazingly easy and healthy dish from Christy at The Girl Who Ate Everything. The recipe uses low-carb ingredients (part skim mozzarella and skinless chicken breasts among them), yet doesn't it look delicious? The sun-dried tomato dressing really adds flavor, and in the end, the dish only has 200 calories per serving. These will be a hit for the whole family.

Strawberry Lemonade Cake Layered With Heaven

Although this attractive strawberry lemonade cake is made with a mix (basic store-bought strawberry cake mix), the value added to it by Ruthanne of easybaked.net is what makes it yummy. The recipe calls for Kool-aid lemonade mix, along with cream cheese, Cool Whip, marshmallow creme and, of course, fresh strawberries. Most of the ingredients contribute to the creamy white filling. This would make a great cake for any occasion, but especially for Valentine's Day or a little girl's birthday.

Potatoes on a Grilled Cheese Sandwich? Get Ready for Scrumptious!

A baked potato grilled cheese sandwich! Who would have thought of this combination? Bob Deutscher over at BS' In The Kitchen, that's who. This divine sandwich has a few more ingredients than your basic grilled cheese sandwich -- namely, yes, a potato, but also all the fixings that go with it: bacon, sour cream, butter, etc. When you're in the mood for the works, this sandwich certainly fits the bill.

Easy, fabulous broccoli & cheddar quiche

Doesn't it just make your mouth water? This easy broccoli and cheddar quiche is made from a recipe posted on A Little Bit Crunchy A Little Bit Rock n' Roll. What sets this quiche apart from others is the crust -- which is made of a brown rice concoction that adds only a little work to a standard quiche recipe. Quiche is good for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. At my house, it also makes an excellent midnight snack.

S'mores Dip: Great Flavor Without the Wilderness

This delicious-looking S'mores dessert dip comes from the folks over at Tastebook. It's remarkably easy to make, using only four ingredients -- chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, marshmallow creme and graham cracker sticks. You can make it entirely in a microwave oven. That chocolaty goodness you remember from childhood camping trips can be yours in your living room in front of your flat screen TV in as little as ten minutes.
